Decubitus ulcers: Prevention of decubitus ulcers is more important and much cheaper than its therapy. The rate of avoidance can reach 90% by using the right medical products. Bedsore occurs by long-term pressure onto the skin. A permanent pressure relief highly reduces the risk of an onset. The risk grows by the age of the patient. Immobility and bad nutrition support the onset of a bedsore.
AirMed® anti-bedsore systems, distributed by the AirMedPLUS GmbH, are allocating the pressure more evenly and will help you and your patients for a better life!

ADS basic, 3 way alternating system, low pressure and normal pressure indicator, patient load depends on mattress type: range 20-250 kg, mattress upon choice
1) 5" overlay-mattress with strech cover,
2) 8" replacement-mattress with strech cover,
3) 10" bariatric replacement-mattress with nylon cover.

Several survey and research results have been put into the device concept. The ADS clinic is made for highter standard in home care sector and has been optimized for hospital use. Following subjecs had priority to be considered as results of the survey:
The solution is the new ADS clinic alternating anti-bedsore system. Nearly 20 years of experience of precursor devices are integrated into the development of the ADS clinic. A detailed research and survey of nurses as users, owners and patients have bred out the easy to use performance and handling. Modern production lines based on SMDtechnique and a programmable microcontroller are responsible for a stable working and precisely adjusted antibedsore-system, especially designed for hospitals. A higher quality of anti-bedsore-systems for prophylaxis will decrease the risk of bedsores and the directly dedicated cost of bedsores.
On one view:

2-way alternating system, 20-180 kg patient load, optical and acoustic low pressure alarm, net failure alarm, static and alternating operation mode, digital controlled pressure setting. 2-way overlay mattress (5") or 2-way replacement mattress (8").

Description will be posted shortly, right in time before "Altenpflege-Messe" 2012 in Hannover.

The Airmed® A6 low air loss system, distributed by the AirMed PLUS GmbH, works as a mattress replacement with an inflated mattress of only 15 cm height. It is specially designed for decubitus ulcer therapy and decubitus ulcer avoidance. A unique selling preposition is the use of an activated carbon filter. The air that inflates the mattress is filtered by this activated carbon filter. Therefore 99,5% of bacteria and viruses in the air are prevented to be transmitted to the patient. This is very important if a bedsore has already occurred and wound treatment is necessary.
A dust filter in front of the activated carbon filter separates dust and other small parts in the air. Both filters can be changed easily by the operator.
A specially developed micro-controller drives the power of the turbine and controls it for the adequate and constant value that was set up by the operator. The silent turbine is covered by a robust housing to avoid noise and vibrations. This makes the A6 system very interesting for the use in the homecare-market.
The mattress is made up of polyurethane and covered with a breathable eudermic micro-fibre fabric. The fabric and the mattress are easy to clean by wipe-disinfection or in a washer with special detergent at 60°C. The mattress covers can be repaired easily by sewing or by high-frequency sealing, so that the system is adapted for long-term use. The mattress can be simply fixed with Velcro® strips under the patient’s bed. The system is fitted with an elapsed hour counter.
Airmed® low air loss systems show an excellent microclimate: the relative humidity after 100 minutes in use is 37,4 %, which is an outstanding values for avoiding decubitus ulcers and for therapy.
Using the A6 low air loss system can reduce the pressure values by nearly 70% , verified by the test laboratory for medical devices of the Technical University Berlin.
